When it comes to Grecian islands, there are many to choose from – according to Google, there are 6 major groups with over 6000 islands, 227 of which are populated. As is her way, Jen has researched all of them. As a result, we headed to the large island of Crete and plan to spend at least a week or so here. It is the largest and furthest south island – roughly an hour flight from Athens With how far south it is, the weather should be a little warmer (70s/80s) and this is a great time of year to go since it gets crazy hot over the summer . Apparently it’s possible to take a 12 hour overnight ferry, but most advice we’ve heard is that it’s far easier to just fly. We are going to start on the eastern side of the island in what appears to be a fancy resort. Hopefully splurging a little on a nice resort-type place will feel more like vacation and help us recharge. We are excited to take a brief break from “travelling” and try out “vacation” for a bit. Then we’ll see!
